I Love Carebears! July 28, 2007Posted by WishBoNe in Animals, Cartoons, Just For Fun, Random Thoughts, Television.
I used to watch Carebears. They are cute and cuddly with puffy cheeks to boot! Thinking back now, the plots sometimes feel a bit silly but then again, when the carebears stand together to fight the enemy, you don’t want to be in their way.
My favourite is Love-a-lot Bear. I love the hearts on her tummy. Secret Bear is another of my favourite. Now, that’s enough pink bears for a while. Wish Bear would suit me right now. I wonder if they are being sold in any place right now. The other day, I passed by a shop and saw them being sold.

Random reads for today.
- This girl is a spoilt brat. Her mother gave her a Lexus a day before her actual birthday party for crying out loud.
- For the dads, they may want to use the GPS to track where their daughters are despite saying they trust them. Thankfully, I don’t have a car.
- Some odd information about the human world. I didn’t know that “The magic word “Abracadabra” was originally intended for the specific purpose of curing hay fever.”
- Our mailboxes definitely can’t be compared to these.
- We can actually do these 22 things for free.
- There are 46 Laws of Anime. Gee, now that you mentioned it:
6. Law of Temporal Variability
Time is not a constant. Time stops for the hero whenever he does something ‘cool’ or ‘impressive’. Time slows down when friends and lovers are being killed and speeds up whenever there is a fight.
- Always wanted to find that sound you wanted to hear? This may be the solution for you.
- For those who have writer’s block, these prompts may just be the cure to unblock it.
Paris Hilton, The Heiress June 28, 2007Posted by WishBoNe in Dramas, Emotions & Feelings, Random Thoughts, Television.
Paris Hilton, Paris Hilton. I
hear see online every time. All the blogs are awashed with her name. Is there no getting away with her? No. She is the heiress to the Hilton hotels and any man who can actually manage to tame her shall be allowed a piece of her inheritance. Assuming he can even capture her heart and he is actually allowed to own part of it.
She seems to like lapping all the attention on her, both positive and negative. Seriously, what was she thinking when she said “I hope to be an example to the kids.” when she was going to be jailed or released from jail? I can’t a link to a report, now where did I read it from? Anyway, her stint in The Simple Life lead me to further conclude that she is just someone who has rich parents and doesn’t know how to appreciate the meaning of being poor.
Even her initial scandalous sex romps failed to dampen her high-spirited ways. She broke the law by driving drunk. The suspended license didn’t deter her. Her jail term from the trial to the jail-time to her release were sensational. OMG. How can she generate so much publicity and still manage to charm others, I don’t know.
There’s a parody on her hamburger commercial. Not sure how long ago but the guy in the parody was real funny and vomit-worthy at the same time.

Some reads to feast on and enjoy.
- For the surfers, can you beat the rats? The rats are way too cool.
- Now, to earn some spare cash, perhaps Blogitive could be another option to try out. It says that you can earn at least $1500 per month. In USD?
- Chinese shares seems to be falling. I wonder if the Olympics would actually help fuel the shares. Oh and I love the mascots. Pandas are cute.
- Wondering if you are unimportant? Everyone will ignore you.
- There’s a new food, not available here, definitely. It’s dick. And it’s yummy.
- I’ve always loved animated gif.
- I wonder if a map can be as colourful as Bruceville. Bruce reminds me of Bruce Lee.
- Children learn from adults. They do what they see despite us telling them the opposite. Sad to see that negative things are being taught nowadays.

Price hikes everywhere. Now, isn’t that great? Businesses are looking up and they can monopolise because they are the only ones who provide such services. First, GST. Then, NETS. Now, Starhub. Next would be supermarkets increasing their product prices after a month. What’s the use of saying the increase would be done later?
It doesn’t make a difference. As July 1st draws near, more companies will be announcing their prices are changing according to the GST. That is called profiteering. They can up the prices and claim that it’s the GST. Oh, not to forget that bus and train rides had increased theirs recently, surely they won’t hit us again?
I went to a handphone shop once and asked for the price of a handphone. It cost $400. After playing around with it, I decided that the cost was ok and the handphone was good enough and went ahead to buy. However, the calculated cost was more than $400 because they only add GST after you have decided to purchase. This has happened to me countless times. Why can’t they declare inclusive of GST instead of luring people in and then add GST? That’s cheating consumers. Consumers don’t like to be cheated.
Things never get cheaper. Prices always go up. Take movie ticket prices for example. Sure, our tickets are cheaper than other countries where they may cost SGD15 – SGD20 but we still watch because the VCDs and DVDs are expensive until a few years or months later.
So, shall we guess which company is going to increase their prices?

Some people are so lucky, pretty and beautiful girls just flock to them like bees to honey. I wonder why. Maybe I don’t have to wonder because he’s the director himself. I’m not jealous of him but jealous of the girls. They are too pretty.

The suspense is over. I’m late by a few weeks since the launch of Anything. Been busy, you see. Chalet, Wild Wild Wet twice, new guinea pig called Latte Combo and trying to understand the cause of the delay in my tuition fees which was finally paid about 2 days back, I’ve yet to update to see if it’s true.
Now, I didn’t see the new posters in the bus stops where the cans were plastered as borders. Someone has a photo of the original posters here. You know those ah peks and aunties who always hunt the rubbish bins for empty cans? They dig the posters because of the empty cans and pulled them off. No actual evidence but the forced removals apparently points to them. The company had to remove all the cans because others pulled off the taps to check it was indeed empty. So, the cans didn’t have an empty hollow sound when you knock on them, did they?
The advertisements were funny too. The poor cashier was punched and kicked when he frustrated those tattooed guys. The actors in the advertisements didn’t look local to me. Anyway, that doesn’t matter because the drinks have caused a buzz. Out of The Box Pte Ltd was actually a company that specialised in golf specific company initially. Interesting to see that they decided move out of their comfort zone to tackle on beverages.
Hopefully I get to try their drinks because I have yet to see them on the shelves.

Anyone watched Just Follow Law? Remember the old mother of Tanya Chew? The one who proclaimed that she had a blog too after transferring the money to her daughter? The site exists. It’s called Real Lao Zha Bor Speaks. I don’t know if it was injected into the movie to promote it or something.
The English is quite coherent, injected with Singlish. She loves to take photos from the posts in the blog. Let’s see if there will be more photos of the stars she will be working with 😀
IT Show Visit March 10, 2007Posted by WishBoNe in Games, Handheld, Hardware, Just For Fun, Mobile Phone, Random Thoughts, Software, Technology and Gadgets, Television, Transport.
I walked around the booths in Suntec on a weekday. It was still very crowded. I guess a number of people have taken leave to get the bargains on the 1st day. I was really tempted on buying the Lenovo Y300 for $1,999. It’s a 13.3″ laptop with 1GB of RAM and 120GB of hard disk space. So cool! It’s a major difference from my current laptop of 40GB of hard disk space and 512MB of RAM. However, I must be crazy to buy it now because my brother will be buying a laptop from poly if he were to study next year. It would be a waste to have an extra laptop around the house.
I hate the crowds that jam the walkways so, this year, I decided to elbow my way out without apologies. Don’t block my way because the walkways are wide, you don’t stop in the middle and use up all the space just to admire that wondrous XBox 360, ok. In fact, elbowing my way through the throng was a lot more effective that waiting for the people in front to move or the oncoming crowd to let you through because they won’t let you through. They want to get through you first. Yea, try phasing through me like the X-Men. Then I’ll probably let ya through, k?
I didn’t buy a thing though. I did consider buying a 4GB thumb drive or a 2GB thumb drive though. Looking around does make me feel impulsive to buy a laptop. I’m always craving for better laptops. If I were to get a new one, it’ll be my 2nd laptop. I wonder how many I will buy in future. I shudder to foresee.
