Is that English or Engrish? July 12, 2006

Sometimes in life we have problems with English even if we have been speaking the language for years. Signboards and products are not spared if we were to translate the initial meaning into English if it wasn’t.

For instance, should I need a new mouse, I wouldn’t buy this mouse. Imagine having an error trying to install a software that Windows is not support. I have be fuming mad! Now, if I were to open a wave file, why in the world would it exist and should I try to overwrite it? I wouldn’t even buy this computer. Fancy telling me not to screw off.

When travelling overseas to countries whose people learn English only at the age of 19 or so, the company signboards can be confusing and scary even. If you are on board a plane, do know how to use the life jacket. You don’t want to swell manually just to float.

One final warning, do not penetrate when you see this sign.
