True Friendship June 18, 2006

We meet a lot of people in our lives. Some are worth our time and efforts, others are not worth it. We won’t know if it’s worth our friendship until we have spent some time with them. While some people are easier to know, there are others whom you take years just to know that you have wasted your loyalty on them.

True friends will never question your motives. They will let you do your thing and advise you on problems that are troubling you. They stand by you and won’t run away when you need them. They lend you their shoulders to cry on and they support you in whatever way they can. Sometimes what they have said may hurt but it’s the truth and they are the ones who will tell you what you’re doing is wrong. It’s a perspective but they only want to help us. They will let us vent our anger. They will sooth us, cheer us up and just be there for us when we need someone there. They will just listen to our problems.

People who run away or avoid us do not deserve our loyalty or friendship. They are the ones who look for you only when they feel that they can make use of you. They are the ones who want to do their own thing and don’t care a hoot about what you think. They are the ones who will backstab you in order to climb the corporate ladder, get closer to that rich man/woman for wider televised scope, steal your boyfriend/girlfriend and don’t care about what you are going through. They won’t be there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on.

Call me when you need me
