From 3% to 5% and now 7 -bloody-percent! Isn’t it apt that they are to increase the GST just after destroying the poll results? After making us happy by giving out the Progress Package, they’re taking it back by saying, “Oh to help the low-income families, bla, bla…” Well, let’s think for a minute, shall we? By raising the GST, how does that actually help us?
Everyone still has to pay every bloody-single-cent. The poor still have to register themselves at the welfare homes or whatever it is and the irony is that our details and how much we earn is actually stored with the gahmen. So, why the heck do we have to register every single time?! There’s even a 5 or 6 page article in ST on justifying why we have to pay another 2% more. Weren’t we promised that it would be capped at 5% or was I dreaming?
There’s already a 10% service charge in most restaurants, with the additional 2% more, we’re paying 17%, so how does that help us? Why only low income? I don’t feel reassured by “Don’t worry, you won’t be left behind.” We are going to be left behind.
The transport ain’t going to be any cheaper or more efficient by raising the fares. So, what is going on? If everyone were to take the public transport, would it actually be faster than cars as in Zürich?

[...] My mood for the past few days are volatile it seems. GST raise and this isn’t helping. [...]
