Making IT Staff Less Angry July 1, 2006

I was discussing about work negatives with my friend last night. I spoke about the grass is always greener on the other side and how some people don’t know that they are so lucky to be in an environment that is not so fast pace or stressful. They feel that the others are so lucky to be having such a nice boss, nice pay cheque, nice benefits, and so on and so forth.
I didn’t realise that IT staff tend to be angered or whine easily until I read Mr Angry’s part one and part two. It has my sentiments; the part about having a good pay, good environment and good team workers. Not sure if part three is coming. You can have a good environment but people leave because there is no career advancement or new learning curve coming in. You can have good team work but the pay is lousy. You can have good pay but the environment is just too oppressive. You can’t have the best of both worlds.
I think I shall have to think about certain things before moving on. There is always compromisation when you find something suitable. Even handphones have such quirks. Either the phone has the functions but not the design or it has the designs but not the functions as my friend said last night.

Part 3 is up now
